I'm out of it, so writing this is kinda weird. I'm not looking for pity. Just gotta get this off my chest.
On May 9th, my girlfriend and I got hit head-on by a truck driving in the wrong lane. I don't remember the details, or how fast we were going, etc. This was in Phoenix, AZ, where she's from. We had this road trip planned 5 months prior, doing the long-distance thing, so she could move back to RI with me. I lacerated my liver and spleen, bounced my dome off the dash, and put my arm through the windshield. I'm fine now. She broke both her legs, her wrist, split the fuck outta her bottom lip, fractured a ton of ribs, put her arm through the windshield, and collapsed both lungs. We're both on meds and I don't really know how I feel about all this. I've been stuck in these fucking motels, with insomnia, losing my mind. She's in re-hab and learning how to walk again. The finisher is that I have to go back to Rhode Island on Sunday, leaving her here. She's completely on her own, but in a state-of-the-art facility, so I'm shook. She's so fucking strong and amazing. If you believe in God, please drop a prayer for her. This shit is tearing me up. I'll be able to come out and visit in a few weeks, and then hopefully take her home in a month, but it's like goddamn... Shit really does happen. Ya'll wanted some heartfelt shit. It's coming...
