They don't have much choice though. Arnold? A son of a nazi will never be president. Powell won't run, he refuses. Jeb Bush doesn't even have enough support in his own party, and depending on the next four years, putting him up might be suicide. McCain is the most moderate candidate they have and the republicans will want to grab the undecideds. McCain would be the best candidate available from both parties.
The democrats are in the worst position, what choices do they have? Hillary? Little experience. Sharpton? Sharpton is a joke, seriously. Edwards? He's the candidate that should've been running this year. The democrats will be hard pressed to find a better candidate, and since the republicans already ran their mud slinging campaign on Kerry/Edwards, none of what they say will be new. It's the best case scenario they can salvage.
