I'm just curious.. I come into this section whenever a spark of interest hits me where I feel like comparing my thoughts and opinions with others, but the average debate topic seems to repeat itself.. not only on this site, but forums solely dedicated to debating as well.

Is there a debate, besides religious theory or differential standing, that has existed for thousands of years and has never been resolved? (Besides the OJ case..)

^^^Yup. That's the big one. Because Human society is centered around the existence of a God (whichever that may be based on your religion). Now imagine if it was definitely proven there was NO God.. NO afterlife.. NOTHING. It would be huge. I can't think of anything else that would affect EVERYONE like that. But..

So in that case Pem.. I would say the second contender would be whether or not intelligent life exists outside of Earth. But I don't think it's been a debate for THOUSANDS of years, still a decent amount of time though.

^^I wouldn't be so quick to say that cuz they still think Mayans exchanged messages with life forms not of this planet, and you know religion is almost all based on astrology. Back in the day all there was until morning was the darkness and stars. There wasn't any light pollution so you could actually see so many stars, enough to form constellations from just natural comparisons of creatures and things common to humans in everyday life.

But my point is there hasn't been a significant debate about whether or not life exist outside of Earth for thousands of years. It's a fairly recent topic of debate. I still say that's second to everything Religious.

probably some conspiracy theory that's connected to the assasination of some significant leader.

aside from that, it's hard to get apart from the ancient debate concerning the existence of God and the origins of the universe.
