Rep Power: 10 | The passion of christ movie Since this thread is being moved to the debate forum, I guess I will have to change the content of my post and also my question.
Again, I know most of you all already know about this great movie or already saw it but the media, churches and parents have few negative things to say about it.
Well, the main reason why most christians have a problem with it is because they think they didn't write the movie according to the bible and they claim alot of things were added which are not true. Parents dont like it because they think its too violent for kids. Media think the same also.
What do you think This is my original message Quote:
My boy just borrow me the dvd of that shit and all i gotta say is damn. that shit is crazy. thats the most terrifying movie about jesus anyone ever made. I think im going to buy the actual dvd when it comes out because this bootleg shit is kinda dark and the letters are way out of the screen. but if you haven't seen that movie, you have to. shit is crazy.
but anyways, whats yall opinion on it?
ps. I haven't seen any thread about this, if someone already made a thread about this in GD, someone can close this and link me to it because I did a search and nothing came up

Rep Power: 9 | i loved it..im not religious but the movie struck feelings,i ended up crying in a few different parts
mel's a genius..and having the subtitles was great because it kept it in aramaic and latin which was important for this.
anyhow..the movie side of things was good.acting was superb, and the woman who played the devil was freaky as shit.
and after hearing about so many groups bitching about it being anti-semitic and wat not,i didnt really get that feeling..i saw it as there were ones who wanted him dead and then the crowd that was crying along with Simon and Veronica and such.
so,go see it cause its superb in an unexplainable way.

Rep Power: 10 | he is a genious...the main reason he put it out wasnt b/c the money...he put it out to show his feelings...and show other people that dont take the time to go to church or read the bible what happened...movie was sad...especially b/c he went through all that for us..and look how we repay him...overall the movie was real good though...imma cop it when it comes out...

Rep Power: 10 | The movie hurt Jewish and Christian people their feelings ,
But the way they raise their children Is strict and protecting , religious people don't resent television but they do think that It's not always educational and learn their children not to take everything too seriously like the "Power Rangers" to avoid hostile behaviour ,
Then why do they speak out now ? They personally think that television Isn't the truth ... so why worry. |

| in a friendly argumentative way cause this doenst need to get strung out..
being jewish..and having common sense also,i know they were speaking hebrew.
BUT..mel and the writers developed the movie from the bibles view, and to my knowledge the bible doesnt have hebrew in it.
also on the greek point..in talking about the movie mel made a point that greek was being spoken then but among the commoners it was more "street latin"
i mentioned the subtitles cause someone said they were bothersome or somethin..thats all.

he didn't make the movie based on the bible..he made the movie according to a book some woman wrote...and i don't know the book title or author...but i know it was based on a book...not the bible... |

Rep Power: 6 | still..it wasn't made straight from the bible..it was from a woman's book....which changed some things to her interpretation... |
