I don't know about you guys, but it was on the news here at least a week before the hurricane struck. Experts were saying that NO could be submerged in up to 20 feet of water following the storm. The government did a terrbible job preparing this, but there's a portion of disgusting people left in NO right now making it so much harder than it needs to be.
I think this has also brought out sides of certain people on RF, who I have personally lost a lot of respect for. Some of you are generalising the whole population of NO by the worst. Believe, many people have lost their lives out there who aren't like that, who were beautiful and special people. I find it completely disrespectful to those dead that some of you can say shit like 'they deserved it'.
You think God made sure they were 6 feet below sea level? made sure that the levies weren't built to withstand severe storms? Most Americans hate on the Middle East, but ya'll got a lot in common with them. Why is it the extreme religious types who have the complete lack of compassion for humankind? Stop looking to your God and start looking to yourselves, cause believe you're not the righteous ones right now. Fuck it, I'm not typing anymore

i hear you on that..i was disgusted by the other thread that was made on here..

and the government knew in case of a severe hurricane or flooding the whole NO would be ruined..the fact that they brushed it off all these years prove they dont give a fuck..once again they have proved that they are not ready for something like this..

you woulda thought they would have learned from 9/11..

we as americans need to contribute in anyway we can..donate or anything to help out...ive already donated mad money to the red cross b/c i know if my city was in devastation there would be people from the NO aswell as other states contributin..
