Rep Power: 3 | The best way to increase your bench ...is to work your triceps.
Diamond pushups, french press, kickbacks, skull crushers, modified shoulder press (i.e. only coming halfway down before going back up), bent arm pullovers, etc.
Go beast mode on your tris and your bench will jump like a Mexican when he sees a fence. Not to mention a developed tri makes the rest of you arm look more complete.
Before I started lifting I couldn't push 100 more than 6 times in a set. After two weeks and 9 days of straight tricep workouts, the 100 on my bench was nothing. Now that there's not enough reistance on my bench to help my tris anymore I do decline diamond pushups. That shit will knock your arms out if you don't have your tris on point.

| Re: The best way to increase your bench there's really no point in doing triceps for benching better..itll help a bit..but if you bench with the correct weight and on regular basis, you'll automaticly improve.. |

Rep Power: 11 | Re: The best way to increase your bench workin tri only helps if your not using the right muscles for bench which is chest try, goin back down some weight putting your hands further apart and using full range of motion with total control of the weight which means go slow and steady rather than fast and shit

Of course it's not gonna be the same for everyone, but what could it hurt for people to try? If it doesn't up their bench it'll make their arms look better.
Edit:
And the bench uses your tris, and some of your shoulder.. mostly the front delts, not solely your chest muscles. I've done it with a wide grip, a medium grip, and a close grip and it's all the same. Down slow, explode up.. stayin in control, etc... this is just what I found to help me. Thought it might help some of y'all.

| Re: The best way to increase your bench like Royal said..if you bench right you don't need to do extra triceps exercises..ofcourse if your on a program in a gym..you'll automaticly be doing other arm exercises. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: The best way to increase your bench me actually being a body builder myself and talking to the people i do an all that....the absolute honest way to increase ur bench quick as fuck is to do a little less than your max, like a weight you can handle about 5 reps on then directly after take all the weights off benching only the bar about 6 inches off your chest at a fast and steady rate....
working on tris definately does help to tho.....and if your going for bigger arms in general, tris are most important becuz your triceps make up 2/3 of your arm....
easy.

second of all, i find its just common sense to start at a weight you can handle, get used to that till you can do them with ease, then move up a couple. |
