The Affects of the holy crusades:-Religion assinment The Affects of the holy crusades:
During class discussions we have raised many important issues such as is the effects of missionaries or missions, are they always useful or did they even make a difference, so I chose the topic of the holy crusades because it involves a mighty warrior and a powerful army of religious fanatics, well after studying the holy crusader army they come across as if they weren’t really fighting in the name of but fighting for the land, the so called holy city of Jerusalem which is based in Iran was invaded bye an amazing army of Christian soldiers from England led by the well know Richard the lion heart the city put up little resistance and many where killed.
In a movie we watched in religion class a man stated that someone observed the murder and wrote down what they saw and I quote " they took the bodies and pilled the up it was like there where pyramids of dead people". I think this strongly had an affect of Christianity in modern area's of Arabia and Jerusalem.
Someone once told me with power comes influence and just bye looking at the greatness of the Christian army it seemed to influence people to take up Christianity and I think in this case a lot of people did.
But then came the retaliation of the Muslim army led by the noble leader Saladin he fought to regain the city of Jerusalem and took back a lot of the influence the Christians had over the land, but all this killing was said to be “in the name of the lord or in the name of religion” in the holy bible one of the 10 commandments is don’t kill yet all this blood was thought to be bettering mankind thus contradicting what they where teaching at the same time. Both the Muslim’s and the Christians where to blame for this it was declared a Holy war such as the so called holy war the Modern Muslim terrorist declared against America.
In conclusion I strongly disagree with what the holy crusaders and the Muslim soldier’s did they spread religion but at the same time spread blood across the lands.
It is never good to state you are fighting for something that isn’t even in your hands, there is no account of God telling the English to invade Jerusalem for him therefore they fought for a lost cause.
Just my feeling's anyone agree
