Re: tha best team? I appreciate your enthuisiasm for sports but try making a thread that would cover multiple topics. As for best team I say France has a squad to be reckoned with.
Barthez in goal, Makalele the best def midfielder in the world, Zidane one of the best all time soccer players ever, Vieira seasoned veteran, and Henry world class striker, I mean what more could you want?
Brazil would have the best squad but Ronaldo has lost a lot of his agility and speed, he can still dance but he doesn't seem to be in the shape. Ronaldinho is the only one living up to his full potential, he's the top in the world. Cafu is doing his thing, he's gettin old though, Roberto Carlos is a straight up geezer but I'll always show him some love and hes doin his thing. The future for Brazil remains with Kaka, Adriano, Lucio, and Ronaldinho. Lucio could be a lot better and Adriano is very good but has a long way to go to get on a level that would live up to Brazils hype in the future, but him as a solo striker I don't think so. But as you can see the seasoned veterans themselves are gettin' old brother, their time is over.
Third is Argentina, once again the best on that team are aged. Riquelme, Crespo, Sorin, Ayala those are all guys that were in their in 98' I'm not complaining they are some of the best I've seen in my lifetime their time is comin'. Abbondanzieri is a great keeper, very underestimated and still could get to be a big name in the coming future on an international level. The future for Argentina themselves is Tevez, Messi, and Pablo among others. Messi is on that young and reckless thing so I don't expect him to start leveling out as a set player until the next cup he's got a lot to learn. Aimar is not living up to his potential damnit, he could be doing so much better but I predict that he'll be one of the best players Argentina ever had. Tevez is alright, critics say he's the next Maradona I think not but he will be at the level like Shevchenko is, just picture Shevchenko with the ball handling skills of like say Cristiano Ronaldo. He will be a skilled player but won't be on that Maradona level.
Fourth, Portugal. I like Portugal and what I've seen they are made dope. I think they will lose against England because they lost Deco he's one of those play makers, he makes things happen, he the type of dude that can set the pace on the pitch. Cristiano is going to be good only in the 18, he's dangerous in their. They might put in Tiago and he's got a dangerous foot, I've seen him do some stuff for Chelsea like whoah. Luis Miguel's performance against Netherlands was pretty good, he was served some bad passes so some missed opportunities I won't hold against him, with the right crosses he's dangerous. Luis Figo is self explanatory, very good, very aged he will do something though when he gets the chance. As for other nameable players is Maniche because the goal he scored would have easily been missed had he not the ability to think quickly in tight spots, he's good. Pauleta's good, he won't create the opportunity but he's the type to follow through. I think Portugal could be one of the best teams in this cup.
As far as team chemistry goes Germany by far has it. They don't have many notable players but in the past they have done reasonably well. Very quiet team, they work good together with passes and reading into the plays which makes them a top team, had they more notable players they probably would be on a Brazilian level. |
