Recently - I have been expanding my "muscial ear" sorta say to different genres of music. I kind of tripped across some pretty interesting sounds that have really made me think about my own craft when it came to hip-hop...
Post some of the songs that are "soul filled" to you that you would reccomend to other RF Members and tell why they put you in that mood - those songs you listen to when you just feel like giving up, wanna get your mind right for a certain time in your life or just that song that makes you feel good. Supply a download of the actual song if you would like to share your experience.
Oh yeah - It dosen't have to neccesarly be Hip-Hop. So that being said ...
Let's set the mood. Lori Perry - "Up Against The Wind"
I first heard this song on the "Set It Off" movie a few years ago during the Queen Latifah death finale scene. During my musical quest - lol, I came across this woman of soul, Lori Perry and find out that she was the artist behind the bullets and cigerette smoke that ripped througout Queen Latifah's body at the end of the movie.
