Rep Power: 6 | Ocean's 12, Blade: Trinity, National Treasure National Treasure
*thumbs up*
i walked away from this movie pleasantly suprised because i don't really like Nicholas Cage. i actually went to see this because I thought Woody Harrelson was in it, but about halfway through i realized i was thinking of another movie because he was nowhere to be found lol. the whole story is based upon a treasure hunt, and it reminds me a lot of a less serious Da Vinci Code. the first 5 or 10 minutes are a bit slow, but once it picks up it becomes really entertaining. i thought the main villain did a really job good job, and the supporting cast was very likable. It was definitely worth its matinee price.
i feel like finding some treasure now. 8/10
Ocean's 12 i went in with low expectations, and i can honestly say that they were met because this movie wasn't very good. none of the performances particularly stood out, the pacing was too slow, and the fun feeling of the first movie was nonexistant. while Ocean's 11 wasn't a cinematic masterpiece, it was a very enjoyable film. I've probably watched it four or five times, but that certainly won't be the case for its sequel.
one of the coolest things about the first film was how they all worked together to break into the vault and walk out with the money. when it's revealed how they make the final heist in Ocean's 12, it's a big let down because they really didn't have to do anything special to obtain what they wanted. and oh my god, i won't even go into how rediculous the whole laser scene is.
the positives of this movie are as follows:
1) Don Cheadle's accent
2) Andy Garcia
3) Catherine Zeta Jones... she's holding it down lovely to be an older woman
4) When it was over)
my advice, stick to the original. this just isn't as good. 5/10
Blade: Trinity the first thought i had when i walked out of the theatre was that Blade: Trinity didn't bring anything new to the table . i suppose after seeing the first two movies i wanted to be wowed with something different, but unfortunately that wasn't the case here. i think Blade 2 featured so much action that it effected how i viewed this one. all of the fight scenes were well done, but i just couldn't find myself getting into them as much as i'd like to because they just seemed basic. however, if you enjoyed the first two movies (which i did) you'll still enjoy this latest installment.
i started off on a sort of negative note, but i liked a lot of things that this movie had to offer. the first thing that comes to mind is the awesome job by Dominic Purcell, who played Dracula. he had an understated savagery in his performance which came across so well on screen. there was an inherent evil inside of him, but also a sense of honor for those who he felt deserved it. after watching him i couldn't really picture anyone else in that role. the screenwriter(s) did a fantastic job of weaving him into the fabric of the story. once it's revealed why both sides of the "war" need him, the film really picks up.
i was a little concerned about jessica biel screwing up the movie, but she held up her end quite well. she was actually a believable bad-ass. i'm a little upset that they didn't show more during the shower scene though. *middle finger to whoever decided to jerk us like that. wait... i didn't say jerk...*
however, i had mixed feelings about Ryan Reynolds, who plays Jessica Biel's wise-cracking sidekick. he's just plain annoying, especially early on in the film. there were several scenes where the dialogue was just horrible, and the actor interaction seemed really off. he gets better later on in the film though, and delivers some really funny stuff.
Triple H... lol well, i'll just say i laughed my ass off when he takes off running in high speed. when you see the movie you'll know what i'm talking about because it's hilarious.
the special effects are pretty much what you'd expect out of a blade movie, but nothing really memorable. i enjoyed that a lot more this movie was done during the daylight, it really helps distinguish it from the other two a bit...
so yeah, despite the lack of anything new i still enjoyed the movie. the story was well-written, Snipes whips ass, and Dracula is the ****. check it out.

Rep Power: 6 | Rza did a straight enough job on the score. I liked that he kept the techno vibe that we're used to during the fighting scenes. i only remember hearing two rap songs off the top of my head, one during a scene where it fit perfectly(Ol' Dirt), and the other during the credits (Rza track). |

I'm here to contradict doctor chick on the oceans flick...OOOOH!
I went in with high expectations on it, as I enjoyed the original(Fuck ya'll cats, Im talkin bout the rat pack one), the Redux (Yes the one that this movie follows) basically the series in general. I felt the plotting coulda been better but I'll be damned if the actors didnt pick up some of the slack. They had the chemistry the last one had, they all gel quite well together for the complexity and number of the cast and characters. There really wasnt a need for a 'major actor' to step up and give a great performance cause its and ensemble peice, so I think you took that for granted Doc.
some of the post O11 things weren't explained all to well but Im assuming a directors cut DVD isnt too far out of line for answering some questions. But still made an enjoyable flick
Vote: 7/10, not as good as the 1st, but not as bad as most sequels to movies.
Just about every flaw dock cock mentioned is quite forgivable...only thing that brought this movie down in my eyes, the goddamn laser scene. That I must Agree...
Pros: Great Group Performance. Don Cheadle of course, and Bruce willis
Cons: Laser scene (basically other theif as a whole),Cathrine Zita jones( I felt she was a lil stiff). and ummm that fag from the seventies show.
