You confuse me. You say you don't want it to be mandatory, but you DO understand that Obama is looking to institute free health care for everyone? Who do you think is going to pay for it? It certainly isn't going to be free. Obama wants to tax the wealthy to pay for it. I know that if you have to struggle financially, government-funded (or wealthy taxpayer funded) healthcare seems attractive. But think of this: Look at Canada and the UK, and anyplace else, ofr that matter, where health care is free. Costs skyrocket. People can't get the care they deserve because every one and their brother is waiting for something free.

Besides, when is the last time a government-run system has worked? For instance Social Security (that the government has bankrupt). How about (on a smaller scale) the Senate's private restaurant that recently they had to turn over to a private company because they couldn't make any money with it. A STUPID RESTAURANT!!!!!! And you want to trust them with health care???

This is what is going to happen if Obama and his "ilk" get their way. Did you realize that the congress a couple of weeks ago declared that a human life is worth a million dollars "LESS" this year than it was last year? OK, so you are worth approximately $1.4 million upon birth. As you age, you are losing $$ based upon your life expectancy. If you look at statistics, if you are a black male, you have the short end of the stick because you have one of the shortest life expectancy rates in the US. So lets say you lived to be 65 and you need an open-heart surgery. You are out of luck my friend, because your life expectancy is pretty much used up and you may only be "worth" $100,000 and the operation is $250,000. See where I'm going with this??? Government run health care is NOT something that I get a warm and fuzzy feeling about! I don;t care if my candidate is Democrat OR Republican.
