Update: Monie Love Quit Philly Radio, "She Decided To Move On"
Thursday - December 28, 2006 by Janeé Bolden
While Monie Love has given up her morning show post at Philadelphia's WPHI 100.3 FM, the station's program director says her exodus has nothing to do with her on-air squabble with Young Jeezy.
As SOHH previously reported Monie stopped appearing on the station less than a week after arguing with Jeezy during an interview. Sources at the station later confirmed that Love had vacated her position. While industry insiders have speculated that Love's departure was related to her verbal tug-of-war with Jeezy, according to Colby Tyner, the station's PD, the rumors are false.
"That report is not true," Tyner told SOHH exclusively. "She decided to move on as her contract expired and we wish her well. No artist or record company has any say in our personnel decisions."
Monie Love did not respond to SOHH inquiries about her departure from WPHI, however the popular British expatriate still remains in Philadelphia and is scheduled to host an event at Fluid nightclub (613 S. 4th St.) tomorrow night (December 29) in honor of friend DJ Ultraviolet. |
