Rep Power: 3 | Mayorga VS De La Hoya Fights this weekend and alot of people think Mayorga is going to win, Oscar hasn't been in the ring for a minute, so anything could happen. Mayorga started the bad blood flowing early at the press conference by talking about De La Hoya's wife and slapping oscar while he was seated! Let me know who yall think is going to get "Knocked the Fuck Out"! |

Rep Power: 4 | Re: Mayorga VS De La Hoya As long as Oscar can maintain himself as a boxer and not a fighter, he should be OK. Mayorga isn't a boxer; He's a fighter. Furthermore, he can take a punch. The way to beat him isn't with a punch, but rather with PUNCHES. Should be a good fight. |

Rep Power: 3 | Re: Mayorga VS De La Hoya Might not even be a fight now! Mayorga talking out his ass, he already getting paid 2 Mil, now he trying to say he want six more to fight, and you know Oscar is involed in the promotion so ain't no chance of that shit happening unless they pull some major strings. |

Rep Power: 0 | Re: Mayorga VS De La Hoya I downloaded the fight from www.worldboxingvideoarchive.com . That fight was a complete technical mismatch from Round 1. De La Hoya's textbook upright was the perfect defense for Mayorga's wild swings.
As for Oscar vs. Floyd - if it happens, Mayweather is going to wipe the canvas with De La Hoya. Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters I've ever seen in my life, and although Oscar had a good fight with an ok fighter, I don't think he has it in him for a fight against the greatest fighter in the middleweight division. |

Rep Power: 3 | Re: Mayorga VS De La Hoya Yeah, Mayorga has no technique, he basically wins all his fight off power and heart. It was still funny when he slapped Oscar at the press conference though, lol. Yeah De La Hoya ain't seeing Floyd. He wouldn't be able to see Floyd in his prime, and definetly not now at like 33. Floyd is too quick and precise with his punches, I doubt if he'll knock Oscar out, but he'll pick him apart and win by decision or maybe stopage. |

De La Hoya was the greatest boxer pound for pound at a time
Mayweather is a good fighter, but not De La Hoya calibur in his prime
Who knows tho, it could go either way

Rep Power: 3 | Re: Mayorga VS De La Hoya De La Hoya was never considered pound for pound the best boxer, maybe the best middleweight but it was Roy Jones for a good while, then you had Shane Mosley thrown in there before he lost twice to Forrest, Bernard Hopkins and Floyd. I ain't saying Oscar ain't good but think about it like this in his prime who did Oscar really fight? Three washed up fighters that were way pass their prime Chavez,Whitaker, and Camacho. He barely beat Ike Quartey by split decision, loss to Trinandad, loss to Mosley, than barely beat Vargas in a fight that if Vargas had lasted the final round he might have won the decision. Floyd is still in his prime and already beat Corrales,Castillo, gatti, Sharmba Mitchell, Zab Judah, and most of these fighters he moved up in weight to fight. Your right he's not of De La Hoya's caliber, he's better. Put it to you like this, name one Mayweather fight you saw, that if he didn't knock the dude out, you actually had to question if he was going to win the decision, he dominates all his fights |

Rep Power: 3 | Re: Mayorga VS De La Hoya Yeah I saw it and personally I don't think that Hatton did enough to win the belt, but that knockdown in the first round is what basically put him over the top. I been watching Ricky Hatton fight for a minute, when he used to fight on showtime. In the 12th round was the first time I ever really seen him hurt, he always gets hit alot, but usually just walks through the punches but cuz had he's legs shaky that last round. He's a good fighter, but back when he was knocking everybody out on showtime he was fighting against lesser competition, if he really wants the big-time fights he's going to have to protect himself better, he took alot of clean hard shots in that fight, Collazo ain't no slouch, but I think most people were expecting more from Hatton. |

Rep Power: 3 | Re: Mayorga VS De La Hoya Yeah I fuck with Pride and UFC, I watch them from time to time when I can catch a pay-per-view, or they show the fights on cable. My nigga is Wanderlei Silva, he put alot of dudes to sleep with them crucial ass knees to the head. Only thing I don't like about Pride is that they can't elbow strike to the head, and that's one of the main ways to daze your opponent and really split somebody's shit open. |
