Immigrants: New Forms Of Begging.

This actually happened to me yesterday, just thought I'd share it...

Now I don't know if this has happened to anyone else - It's certainly new to me. I’m used to seeing people begging on street corners etc, but going door to door like Jehovah’s Witnesses?

I'm at my friend’s house. We are about to go out, when an Immigrant (Eastern European looking lady) knocks on the door, there was another lady at the bottom of the driveway holding a baby. So he opens the door, and she hands over a small laminated leaflet. The leaflet basically stated, she doesn't speak much English, she's desperately poor, and can we donate some money? My friend only had his credit cards on him, so I gave her ₤5 (approximately $10). She then asked for more LOL. We're like NO, and we stepped outside because we had to be somewhere. She didn't seem appreciative and she just walked off. Whilst we're getting into his car, she walks to the next house with the lady who was waiting at the bottom of the driveway, and she pulls out a blackberry pearl cell phone, we were like WTF!?! I'm not sure how much these cost in the USA, but there still a few hundred over here in the UK. I don’t even know if 'door to door begging' is allowed, but expect a knock at your door…

ive had people come to my door trying to preach religion, but never just straight up asking for money. about 6months ago an immigrant came to our door trying to sell his paintings (which in all fairness were pretty incredible) but i still denied him cos its too much having people come to your door. guess thats the closest ive come.

if i were you, i would have demanded my money back or atleast thrown rocks at the person with the phone.

The new(est.!?) scam in S.F. is people going door to door asking for "donations" for all kinds of shit ranging from kids sports programs, housing funds for the homeless to money for overseas hunger and famine. The people come to your door with a little clip board with some bullshit paper and ask for your signature + a donation. I feel sorry for the people who give money with a kind heart thinking they're actually contributing to something good.. when in reality they're just being scammed.

Just a few days ago I was walking in the city with some friends of mine and there was this guy sitting with a cup demanding peoples money, the thing is the clothes this man was wearing were far to nice for him to be begging. He had a (pretty nice) leather jacket laying next to him too. When I see a man like this who obviously looks like he aint that much in need of the money I'm always conspicuous about someone like this. Not that the thought crossed my mind of giving him some change, but what makes someone like this tick.

Also I always came buy the same guy with his dog begging, every sunday I saw him at the same spot. For like months in a roll, so one day I gave him a pamflet of the unemployment office telling him to get of his lazy ass and find a job.

Theres about 200 immigrants came into my town the last months..

I was walking to work the other day and a car was pulled over, they was callin me i looked over, and about 20 squashed in a car, one showed me a chain, was cheap as shit and said buy buy i said no, she said buy buy i sed fuck off n walked on.. Thats all ive had.

I only given one homeless person money...but that's because he was a legend.

Met him after a club at around 4 when he said he would take me and my mate to get some food from the only place in the town centre open that late ... On the way went to Chinatown and won some money in the casino so i decided to give him some winnings....and i bought him some chips.

I give change to vagabonds all the time. My home boys sisters used to have an apartment in Little Haiti and I'd be there every weekend. Right off I-95 and 79th there's this bum with no legs.. he's always there so I chit chat wit the dude and drop em a couple quarters. I've seen the plastic card thang too but not at my house.. I'd beat the mufukka down cuz I don't like nobody.. not even my neighbors comin on my property without my prior knowledge. One mufukka came up to my car while I was at the light and just handed me a card that said "I just came to Florida. I have two children. Please help me feed them.".. and there was a pic of him with two kids above the words. How the fukk I'm supposed to help you feed your children? Get a job biiiiaaaaaaaaatch!
