I haven't really enjoyed anything I've read lately. The last books that really won me over were For Whom The Bell Tolls, a Hemingway novel. It's incredibly well written and the story is more exciting and interesting then most of Ernest's stuff. That being said, I'm a huge Hemingway fan and whenever I recommend this the readers don't seem to dig it. Besides that I've read two collections of poetry. Ginsberg's HOWL and other poems is awesome. The title poem HOWL is the best in the collection and really works some creative images out. Not a real hip hop vibe, but their is something there that connects with some of the open mics from my era. W.S. Merwin wrote an excellent story told through poetry about the history of lepracy in Hawaii entitled The Folding Cliffs. It's a book that goes quick, but is worth reading a few times. Some of the lyrics are just out of this world. I've also recently read Post Office by Bukowski. It's a fun read, really easy to get through quickly. Good book, but nothing to write home about. Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali is a collection of prayer-like poems. Some of them stand out, but maybe some of the Nobel Laureate's flavor is lost in translation because I got bored with it and found myself dragging legs across the finish line. I've been doing a lot of reading, but nothing has really stood out. Those have been the cream of the crop over the last two months or so.

I just began 1984 by George Orwell and it's as prophetic and visionary as they say.
