I just got done spending about a week in southern minne-snow-ta. Kicking it with Kaze and his Roomate. Me and Dhymond decided to hit up an open mic @ a pipe shop.

No other emcee's showed up so basically me and dhymond 2 manned it with a DJ and ripped freestyles for about an hour and a half or so.

Wasnt exactly packed but shop was open and whenever customers came in we had some attention. Some decent nods of approval, nobody ran up and said we sucked to say the least. Probably between 15 and 30 people heard us.

Either way felt good opposed to something I assumed to be nerve racking.

Anyone got any experience with the shit ? Stepping away from the net and really ripping something ya know ?

Eitherway I suggest doing it at least once to see if your made for live or not, defeintly something I will be doing more often.

I've ripped a club before...I was Drunk like woa, I didnt wanna do it but ma boys pushed me up there..n hey! I pulled it off n' crowed went off...:) shyt was fun then got invited to a bigger club where Talib was gonna be at...but I lost the adress :(..so that was a short stop :(...

Most people I ever spit in front of was about 30 of my friends from high school. Me and a crew from around the way basically had a four hour long cypher. I was actually nervous, which I'm never nervous to spit, but I think it was the fact I knew all these people and felt the need to impress them. Either that or because I was trying to fuck one of the hoes, and I ain't wanna let my "beating women for fun" shit slip. Fuck it, we were drunk and they asked me to be on their next cd.

twice.

first time the crowd had about 100 + people

second time, maybe 70-100 not sure.

both felt spectacular. 2nd time more so because i wasn't as nervous.

I've done alot of live performances. I was actually doing talent shows in clubs and freestyles in parties before I started fucking with the net. I used the net as an expansion to see where I would fit in with emcees outside of my hometown. In school our lunch room freestyles had a crowd so big the principals and teachers had to make us stop. I've done shows for packed clubs and last summer I was an opening act for Juvenile and J Kwon. I've done alot of shit just to end up looking for an audience through the internet, but I know on here its real. Nobody's smiling in your face or just trying to hype you up for their own benefit. BUt back to the original topic, I've performed live many times and everytime is just as exciting as the first when you get a good crowd reponse. thats why I keep doing this.

freestyled at parties...
i play guitar live with the funk/blues band i'm in quite a lot. i think 800 ish people is the largest we've played so far.

ill spit in front of anyone.. anytime.. i have been in a couple freestyle shows.. prolly 100 people max.. but damn did i ever kill it.. ive always wanted to join the big battle my city has every year.. but the kids in it are just plain garbage.. feel like im wasting my time

yeah... i was on the battle circuit for a little while.. but that got old because so much of that is politics at larger events.. ive done some shows in spots around state.. i rocked some parties whteher it was freestyling or just being asked to perform a song or 2.. battles and shit at some of them.. i love it.. ive never even really been nervous on stage.. i always get a little antsy beforehand.. more so with battles than just performing.. but once i have the mic in my hand and im doing my thing im cool.. im still waiting on the footage from my last show ill see if i can post some of that up.. but its a great feeling to see people all vibing to your shit and then just chilling and talking with cats afterwards.. its always a great feeling when you know you killed it and people show some love for you.. and next month im starting a little tour if you want to call it that much.. im still waiting on date confirmations for some of the spots.. but ill be doing shows in ohio, kentucky, michigan, a couple more in indiana and this summer im supposed to rock a show in st. louis... its something i intend to do a lot more as im trying to get the name out and sell some mixtapes... just dont go thinking its all candy cream and big paydays at first.. its a lot of fun.. but its hard work.. helping promote the shows and all the other shit that goes with it.. and you run across a lot of problems.. but its like flamespitta said.. that buzz from rocking a crowd and getting love never gets old
