7th Crescent - I liked the way you wrote it true to yourself, like nothing but the essential truth is being spoken from your point of view. Nice rhyming at the beginning & the theme set up was smoothly introduced and concluded with the usage of your diction. This is exactly your style, but now in a more mature, calmer state than before.

Don Dotta - Okay, so you wrote an open mic diss, that's acceptable. You kept a fairly sardonic, humorous tone throughout, decent internal rhyming and playful ideas with simple punchlines. I liked two of your bars.. the rest didn't make any significant impact and were forgotten within reading 3 bars. I can see your improvement.. and I hear the voice in your verse. That's a definite positive thing in text.. keep this up.

Man i tell yaa this is the first one that i really dont know how to vote on !

7TH i`m sorry but this was one of your most plain reads i was waiting for the wow! factor that you normally provide but through out the whole verse it wasnt there.

Now that said it also was one of your smoothest reads i was able to follow your flow easily and you did not make it a vocab fest.


Don dotta you really kill me man how the heck do you wind up droppin a piece half assed but still include ill content and metaphors.
I Guess when youve been doing this along time its easy.


My vote goes to 7TH.

Open mics and Punch battles are real close except OMs talk more about our selves in a bregging kind of way. Dons Verse seemed closer to a punch battle closerr to the end.

I personally dont like the concept of an open mic battle... its hard to vote on a better verse when they're completely different in their purpose. But uhhh...

7th Cres.: I like your drop. Thought your first verse/half was better than the second though. More-so in the first verse, your wording was nicely done. Nothing spectacular in your drop, but the form and structure was nice.

Dotta: Your verse was more of my style... I definitely enjoy writing punches n such more than a typical open mic thing. But for your approach, you really needed to come with some more/better punches and creativity. The only line I liked from your verse was the 'single-base hit' line, and that isn't all too original either. I just liked it cuz its been a while since I seen that concept, and I like baseball >_<. Wording and rhyme scheme wasn't as well done as 7th.

Vote: 7th Crescent. Neither battlers had a spectacular verse. Although I relate and enjoy Dotta's type verse more, I didn't really see any good punches or anything. Dotta said he keyed it, and it shows. 7th just had better qualities in his verse than Dotta, such as the rhyme scheme; wording; etc.

this was an interesting battle...

7th - i gotta go with xylo on this one... i kinda kept waiting for the wow factor and never got it.... you did have some real nice metaphors that were intermingled with the regular lines... overall it was a pretty smooth verse... not to the caliber you could've made it, i dont think, but still good none the less... some favorite lines:

Don - overall it was an alright keyed up open mic diss piece...it had some good flava too it, possibly too many played concepts... i liked the little addlibs you did in a couple of verses...hard to do it for text, but my imagination is crazy so they came accross good to me...so all in all, it was ok... for a keyed it wasnt bad at all... wouldve liked to see more effort tho... some lines i liked:

OVERALL - i think 7th's verse was just a little more fresh with the content...his mets seemed a little deeper... Don had more mets, but they werent as consistent with the played concepts and everything...liked both approaches, but in the end I think 7th's was just smoother and better material...
