Rep Power: 10 | Re: DO NOT support Nas's ****** Movement I agree, I mean I used to respect 'Nas' as a rapper/persona but I more and more began to feel this nigga ain't as real as they show us.
Somehow, his lyrics don't seem to fit him. He tries to sound deep with 'Nastradamus' etc. but his cover Is the only thing real about him. Content's weak, honestly old-skool production was Queensbridge and same with the prophetic album covers but yo, he's trying too hard to come across as a wise nigga.. he's not. He thinks a '******' movement Is an intellectual move.. while It's corney as fuck no matter how straight it is. This shit is wannabe.
That's how I feel, a rapper like "Cormega" Is a QB artist but he's one intelligent rapper. Listen to 'Nas' .. It's not wisdom but he's just spitting common sense.. telling kids to study 'n tell us how he fucked some kid up on the next record.. It's like he's still, after all these years, trying to find himself. I don't like him, he's not real to me. |

You right on tha munne there.
And the way you put it, I can´t even expound much further on it.
You pretty much said it ALL there.
He´s on sum, deep-for-the-sake-of-bein-deep shit.
And ends up being more than a trifle shallow, and hearin Nas these days, leaves an aftertaste, of artificiality.
So that´s ditto for me.. |

Rep Power: 8 | Re: DO NOT support Nas's ****** Movement To me.. home boy is tryna show that racism still exists but its Hip Hop thats being the scape-goat for it. They went from Don Imus' comments to how Hip Hop can help stop prejudice by cleaning up it's lyrics. Gimme a fukkin break.

Rep Power: 3 | Re: DO NOT support Nas's ****** Movement ^^Exactly..
Thats why I not only solute Nas and his rebelling statements and appearence but I also applaud some of his views which can also be viewed as acts of courage. I definately dont despise hime for it. Hiphop every since I can remember has always been about freedom of expression no matter how contreversial(sp) that expression may be.
But Im just one opinion out of billions....wow its actually billions of people that listen to and are influenced by hiphop......we sure have came a long way!! |

| Re: DO NOT support Nas's ****** Movement i think the realest thing about Nas is the fact that he can kick knowledge and uplift on one record then get gutter on the next. It shoes his emotions. I'm a positive guy for the most part but i have my days where i feel like beating a cat stupid. Showing us his flaws is as real as it gets. there's a lot of fake niggas in the industry i dont believe Nas is one of them.

Yo lemme let ya'll niggas know one thing
It's one life, one love, so there can only be one King |
^^ AND THATS NOT EVEN THE FULL VERSE
It's not like Nas pulled a LL Cool J and came out raw as fuck, got mad when black power shitted on self-centered emceeing, and started rubbing on himself to sell records.
You don't spit ill shit like that, then get bashed by your own people for taking a stand FOR hip-hop. Like Jabbs said, hip hop gets blamed for everything negative... Nas is making a bold statement with his album, and his outfit at The Grammy's.
I'm not gonna put words in the mans mouth, but I think everyone should shut the fuck up and respect a legend. As far as Nas being fake or not "real"... Milli Vanilli, Vanilla Ice, Ja Rule... those guys were fake.. and where are they now? On random VH-1 flash-back shows, or at home jerking off... Where's Nas? In the booth gettin ready to drop his 10th album, in 14 years.... yeah, "fake" guys really last that long in this industry. |

Rep Power: 1 | Re: DO NOT support Nas's ****** Movement Yo Nas is a revolutionist for his "******" movement.. I think everyones stupid immature about the word anyway, I like the fact that he's trying to take the so-called power away from the word.
Obama should put on one of nas's ****** shirts during his inauguration party.
Hahaha Obama '08!!
And, for all those DUMBASS's that don't like/support/believe in Obama should check the stats.. he's the head candidate amongst the educated. Not a coincidence; believe it. |
