Default Death Row Shutting Down for Good?

Quote:
In what seems to be the final page in one of hip hop's most sordid chapters, CEO Suge Knight is reportedly shutting down Death Row Records for good. In an interview with the New York Post, Suge revealed that he wanted to end the infamous label's legacy for good, as advised by preachers Noel Jones and T.D. Jakes.
In 2005, Knight was ordered to pay Lydia Harris $107 million in punitive and economic damages. Harris alleged that Knight shut her out of the record label, despite her having co-founded it. In April 2006, Suge filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing over $137 million in outstanding debt (with only $4.4 million in assets).
As a result, one of the most controversial figures in hip-hop has decided to shut down the notorious label - ending in a far different manner than it began. At one point, Death Row was home to such high-profile acts as Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Tupac. Knight was subject to much scrutiny following the death of Tupac, which many have speculated began the record label's downward spiral.
According to the Post, Suge would like to liquidate his publishing rights and settle his debts, rather than attempt to continue running the lablel. “I want to take care of the creditors. I’m saying I don’t want to keep living in the past, with the negativity."
Damn. should have been shut down long ago.

Finally, i'm all for entrepreneurs, but dude's been strong-arming money out of amazing acts for far too long, and keeping ones with insane potential (TPG anyone?) from gettin' where they need to go.
