Unless they actually stole my info from the savedarfur website and went thru all the time to make up proffesional packets of info with a ready to mail petition to the un and only politely requested donations.. yes

ive sent them some donations before and signed all the petitions so i assume thats why i got the letter

Yeah...my home church took up a special offering to help the civilians n raised about 2 grand. It's sad but all we can do is send money n pray that it goes where it's supposed to go n does what it's supposed to do. Good looks on keeping it out there...how quickly we forget...

well not much we can do... the gov wont send troops or support since the US wont get anything valueable out of it. if they had oil or somthing special we use/need then the us would interven

Well 8th, that's because EVERY situation isn't the same. As far as the war with Iraq...it's simply a power move because of the oil in the middle east. We have something to gain (financially) by setting up shop over there. N any country with nukes is a threat because we aren't the most liked world power ya know. So we ran up over there tellin them what to do with their countries defense systym when that's up to them. That's why so many people feel that we should mind our own biz in situations like that cause it's up to that political system to decide how they want to be ran. But when innocent children are being killed by the thousands that's where intervention should be a no brainer. You can't say that the US should respond the same way to every situation. Sometimes they do need to mind biz n sometimes there should be intervention. However the power sources of this country seem to make that decision based off of what they can gain rather than who they can help...sad but true mentality of a lot of people...

Clearly you cannot respond to ever situation in the same way. But, the problem in iraq and darfur have the same problem. Extremist muslims slaughtering people. For the record, Im for doing somethin in darfur. But the fact of the matter is, if we leave Iraaq right now, it will make darfur look like nothing. It is just interesting to me the selective caring. the same people that say 'leave Iraq alone and let them deal with it' want to stop the sluaghter in darfur. Both are bad situations that need to be address PROPERLY. throwing money at the problem [most of which will never get to the people] will solve nothing. Defeating extremist islam across the globe will deal with the problem.
