If so, when and give examples.
My English class had a debate today and I said "there can be wrong opinions"
I went on to say that an opinion that what Hitler did was good is a wrong one.
Was I correct in my statement? |

An opinion can be wrong based on a set moral standard that can pretty much be accepted by all. As in your example, 'what Hitler did was good', we all know genocide is never a good thing because all of us are intelligent enough to realize we are humans, we all have the right to live.

If It's based on wrong arguments , an oppinion can be wrong.
Like young children from KKK-educated parents learn that all of the black race are evil criminals , they don't know any better but their oppinions are based on false facts 'n statements taught by parents.

| What is scientifically impossible? We don't even know enough of the universe to claim impossibilities. As for what you say, that'd be a guess on a matter that can be proven. How can you prove or disprove "I believe there is a god"?

That you can't prove or disprove, but there ARE things that can be proved or disproved.
And airport secutiry is racial generalization, not racism.
When I said racism, I guess I meant it on a serious tip like hanging people of color simply because they are of color.
And like Nox said, if your opinion is validated by false information, it's not an accountable one. | |

An opinion can be wrong if there's scientific (or other factual) evidence that proves otherwise.
That's what I think anyway.

An ignorant one but yes it is an opinion. Its when people overuse there opinions and start believeing that the are factual. For example hitler had the opinion thats jews were bad. ok w/e. But when he acted upon these opinions is when it was abused. Opinions but when they can be used wrongly and then usually a problem ensues.

Hmmm...interestin topic & opinions @ that...
Aight, I'm a pretty big sports fan, so my thing is...
When somebody has their opinion thinkin 1 team's gonna win but they don't, does that count as an 'opinion' bein wrong? Like, if somebody said, "The Bengals are gonna beat the Steelers." Seein that didn't happen, does that count for a wrong opinion or just a wrong prediction or what?
I'm just curious, cuz again, this is an interestin topic...

"The Bengals are the best team in the NFL" is an opinion. A wrong one.
