The 'outrage' over the patriot is some what ridiculous. Clearly they were mistakes made. It may ahve been criminal, but more likely it is another example of how bad beauracracies are at accomplishing tasks. And everyone makes the patriot act sound like some type of clearly far overreaching document forced down americans throats by the big bad bush administration. Congress OVERWHELMING [on both sides] approved, and re-approved the patriot act. Not everything is a conspiracy.

didnt read the link, but saw what i assumes a similar article on fbi's illegal dealings regarding peoples personal lives.

patriot act is a nonsense, but to be honest i thought FBI had power, permissive or not, to invade anyones privacy they choose, which they've basically proved

the very name 'patriot act' is vastly ironic. it doesn't protect the people, it invades them.

the huge amounts of data which computers and other methods obtain on Americans, actually hinders the government in apprehending/keeping tabs on suspected people - thats as said by a intelligence person, becuase the vast number of people being tracked, means more paper work etc etc etc

I Don't Live In America, But At Least Half Your Admin Admitted To Not Even Reading The Vast 4 Inch Thick Patriot Act Proposal They Were All Given. So They Had No Clue Of The Implications Involved When Voting In Favour Of It.

The Ones Who Did Read It Actually Voted Against It. Some Were Released For Challenging It Publicly.

I Think They Need To Pick The Bush Admin To Pieces, That Way They Can Either The Name Of All Those Involved. Or Get The Cuffs Out.

lol seriously tho, I thought after farenheit 911 and all those anti-bush events that were being held, people would have opened their eyes.. but there must be a great majority of people that seemed to be blind, deaf and dumb to these things..

no one has any idea how history is going to report Bush. Lincoln was thought of in his day as giving boring speeches, and now some of his speeches are considered the best in American history. Many presidents have left office with under 30% approval ratings, and years later looked upon as some of the greatest presidents. Again, just because YOU [and maybe your group of friends] think something, does not mean the majority of people think that way as well.
