I'm sure most of ya'll out there in ".com" land have heard about Barack Obama, if you haven't then what rock have you been livin' under for the past 6 months or so. Let's forget about political persuasion (demo. vs. repub.) and just truthfully answer the question, is Barack Obama what you would consider president material or beg to differ?

not now. he seems like an intelligent person, and he doesnt seem to be much of a radical. Although, im sure i disagree with 90% of what he stands for [although i could be wrong]. He may one day be presidential material, but he needs much more experience. two years, in my opinion, is not enough.

yeah, i agree. he needs more experience, but i think there's serious potential.

Yeah there's been a couple articles in the press over here suggesting he's the next big thing for the Democrat party. Seemed to be saying 2012 or 2016 we could see him nominated.

I'm hoping that he saves himself for the upcoming election, attempting to win the democratic spot in the election would probably ruin his popularity. Though, in 2012 we will probably see our first black president, this man, for the slow ones out there. The odd thing is that with the way the upcoming election looks, the first black president could be succeeding the first female president.

i dont know his views or policies yet, so i dont know if i agree with him or if he would be a good political candidate.. but a black person needs to run for president... the quicker they do, the quicker a black person will be in office... same with a woman... and you know pembroke is right... all the black non voters will register and support him without caring for his policies... its just how america is...

This is one of the problems with him still, he hasn't really outlined any of his policies, a few of his views were expressed in several of his speeches but so so far he's only touched on a few of those views. The reason that the buzz is so tremendous over him is because of two or three absolutely amazing speeches he's given.

He is a great speaker, and seemingly a very intelligent man. I'd have to disagree wholeheartedly that 98% of the black pop. would vote for him. But then again, I'm Canadian, what do I know about American politics!!!

I'm black, and I won't vote for him until I know what he stands for. Seems like a good guy, with some good views, I just would like to know what they were. I know a little bit about where he stands, but I haven't read enough on him yet. As far as experience, I'm sure he'd be fine with what he has under his belt now. I'm sure he has advisors, to help him with anything that'd be over his head. But as far as making decisions, I think he's fully capable of that. Now I just need to figure out what decisions he'd make in certain situations for him to get my vote.

^as it should be. I know girls that say they would vote for hillary just because she is a women, and black people that would vote obama because he is black. I think that is ridiculous. See, if more people voted for politicians by what they really stood for, apposed to things like the letter infront of there name, we would have better politicians.
