Don Cherry - In Memoriam SendSpace | The Best Free File Sharing Service
This is just a beautiful instrumental piece of music from some ECM heavyweights. For those who don't know, ECM is pretty much the premier European jazz label and has been since the early 70's. I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Bobo Stenson and Anders Jormin recently (the pianist and bassist on this track) and I was truly inspired by the level of intensity and passion they focus into each sound they create.

If you don't own the What's Going On? album already, I suggest you obtain this album by any means necessary asap. The music on this disc is as incredible, touching and relevant as it was 35 years ago, particularly in our current climate. The track I've upped is the closer on the album and is one of those pieces of music that just touches me every time I hear it.
Ebjorn Svensson Trio - Do The Jangle SendSpace | The Best Free File Sharing Service
Nearly all the jazz stuff I've been really heavy into atm is from the European (especially Scandinavian) scene. EST is an acoustic piano trio which sorta fuses jazz, funk, pop and classical sensibilities into one. This track's pretty straight forward funkified. The energy gets me every time, plus I'm a fiend for them heavy double bass lines.
p.s Av, I caught Billy Cobham with ASERE (cuban collective) recently and managed to attend the workshop he gave at college. Saw him walking randomly in college afterwards and managed to grab a photo and a quick chat with the living legend. I'm still buzzing about it. The gig was nuts too, if they get out to Cali I'd strongly recommend you get out to see em.
