What could we do to stop Iran from leaning on Saudi Arabia? We have our hands tied in a war that can only end as the Vietnam war did and little to no friends left in that region other than the Saudi's. The UN is already getting fed up with our nation building (aka, nation burning).
As for the oil supply, look at countries like Brazil. They have almost no demand for oil since they've moved onto either 85% ethanol or pure ethanol based fuel. They get their ethanol from their abundant source of sugar canes. They should be the model of the future. They learned from the 70's shortage warning, the one our country missed due to our head's being up our own ass.
