Default Re: NFL's #1 draft pick is....Mario Williams

Actually, the Texans made the right decision. If they weren't going to draft a o-lineman with the first pick then why not go defense. In their division you have three good quarterbacks, Manning,Leftwich, and McNair/Vince Young when his ready, you have to be able to rush the passer. Sacks don't show up the same in the stats column as touchdowns but think about the other things a pass rush generates, interceptions, alot of int's come from the QB rushing his throw because of pressure. You can't let a quaterback like Manning or McNair sit in the pocket allday and pick you apart. The Texans already have Dominick Davis who is not the playmanker Bush is but is a good running back, and has put up good numbers behind a suspect o-line. Defense win championships, they picked up two good defensive players and then picked up some o-line in the 3rd round. Plus with a new coach you don't want to have to worry about players holding out, they couldn't agree with Bush on a contract before the draft which means there could have been a potential hold-out. Kubiak wants all his players on time for camp so they can all start learning his system, no Reggie Bush may turn out to have a better pro career, that remains to be seen, but from a team aspect, they made the right choice.
